DECLARATION OF FAITH

The Autonomous Orthodox Church of Africa recognizes for its head Jesus Christ, Savior of Men. An integral part of the Universal, One, Holy and Apostolic Church, hereditary and continuation of the Orthodox Christian faith derived from the teachings of Christ Himself, transmitted to the apostles and developed by successive councils and preserved to the present day by episcopes Chosen by Christ and validly consecrated according to the rites of the Church of the first three centuries of our era.

Because the Church is established in the world and this world is changing in time, the Autonomous Orthodox Church in Africa is a partisan of holy reformation and holy liturgical contextualization, of the union between Christian churches Intercommunion in the acceptance and tolerance of the sacred particularities of each group.

The Autonomous Orthodox Church of Africa places at the basis of its teaching the Bible, the Old and the New Testament freely studied in the light of Christian consciousness, reason and science. The teaching and the apostolic practice written and oral constituted by the holy tradition occupies a place of value because the recommendation of the Apostle Paul confirms us on this subject: "So, brethren, remain firm and hold the instructions that you Have received, either by our word or by our letter. (II Thessalonians 2:15)

The Autonomous Orthodox Church of Africa makes it a duty for each of its members to form personal and thoughtful convictions, like in the Gospels each apostle contributes to enriching spirituality by leaving his imprints in the spirit of the Church, He bases his mission. The spiritual current of our Church is marked by the Saints Andrew, Paul and Peter, apostles.

The Autonomous Orthodox Church of Africa opens its doors to anyone who has already been baptized, or who agrees to be baptized with Water and Spirit. Its purpose is to gather and unite all Christians in a spirit of fraternity for their religious, spiritual and moral development. It works to advance the reign of God on earth through the Gospel, the source of eternal life and individual and social progress.

In Christ, we are ONE, despite our cultural diversity
